  • Applicant's full birth certificate showing parents' names.*
  • Father's birth certificate showing his parents' names.*
  • Parents' marriage certificate issued by the Registrar of Births Deaths and Marriages.**  If your parents were not married at the time of your birth but have subsequently married additional documentation will be required.
  • Paternal Grandfather's UK passport (current or expired)
If he does not hold a British passport, his original birth certificate* showing his parents' names and any passport for your father.  If he does not hold a passport forward his Australian Citizenship Certificate or Permanent Residency Status plus one other form of identification for him and full marriage certificate
  • Letter from Defence Records Office or relevant Government Department confirming your grandfather was recruited in the UK and was still in Crown Service at the time of your parent's birth
  • Two forms of identity showing your name. For example bank or credit card statement, Medicare receipt, a telephone, gas or electricity account or council rates notice, student ID card.  Document used for first entry into Australia or if no longer available provide full written details.
