Born in the UK
Birth in the United Kingdom after 1 January 1983 does not automatically confer British nationality. Citizenship is normally acquired through a British citizen parent or a parent settled in the United Kingdom (i.e. is free from any Immigration control).
In all cases, claims made through the father's line are by legitimate descent. Parents must have been married at the time of your birth, or subsequently married.
