The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) will be held on 28 – 30 October 2011 in Perth, Australia. The main meeting venue for CHOGM 2011 will be the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (often known as CHOGM) happens every two years.
The meeting provides heads of government with the opportunity to discuss Commonwealth and global issues, and to jointly decide upon policies and initiatives. Joint decision making and consensus are of great importance to the Commonwealth.
Strategic issues affecting the Commonwealth will be discussed. The UK government is committed to reinvigorating the Commonwealth and hopes that this CHOGM will be a transformational opportunity.
