How to legalise a document

In Australia, the British High Commission and the Consular offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth are not allowed to perform notarial acts under the Commissioner of Oaths Act 1889, and on instruction from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London.

This includes certifying documents as true copies of originals, administering oaths or taking affidavits.  Persons requiring these or other forms of notarial work, or the legalising of documents, should contact a notary public.
