AUKMIN 2012

A shared vision for global security

The Australia-UK Ministerial Consultations (AUKMIN) is the annual day-long summit between our Foreign Secretary William Hague and Defence Minister Phillip Hammond. The fourth AUKMIN was held in London on 23 January 2012, and the UK Ministers were joined by Australian Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd and Defence Minister Stephen Smith.

It is a forum where British and Australian Ministers and senior officials discuss foreign affairs and international security policies, share analysis, and discuss ways to move towards our shared global objectives. The UK-Australia alliance helps to safeguard our two nations’ security, based on our shared values and interests. It is a special and enduring partnership, as important today as it has been for previous generations.
